Ok, settle a dispute for me and a buddy! In the 1988 Olympics, Ben Johnson, of Canada, ran a 9.79 second 100m dash. So if this time were to be converted to a 100y dash, the time would be 8.9 seconds, correct? He says 8.79, and I say 8.9...which is right? Thanx.

100 meters is about 109.36 Yards.
That means it would take 100/109.36 as long to run 100 yards as it would to run 100 meters.
This is assuming speed is constant, which isn't true for running, but would be ok for an approximation.
9.79 * (100/109.36) = 8.95 seconds
