square feet questions/help

Hello everybody; first post and visit.

I work in a computer room where the floor tiles are square at 2 feet in length. My questions are, would the square feet measurement of each tile be 8 feet? If yes, is that how a room is measured in square feet?

No, they are not 8 square feet, but 4.

Area = Length * Width

Your floor tiles would be:
2 * 2 = 4 square feet

Usually the entire width and length of the room is measured to calculate the area. But, you could count all the tiles. Either way should come out exactly the same.
