cubic feet to cubic yards

I have a builidng with floor area of 15255 square feet. I need to excavate 1 foot down = 45765 cubic feet or volume.

How many cubic yards is this?

15255 square foot * 1 foot = 15255 cubic foot

Not sure where you got 45765 cubic feet, but it is not the correct result.

There are 27 cubic feet in a cubic yard, so just divide by 27.

15255 cubic feet / 27 = 565 cubic yards

I meant 3 feet or 1 yard deep, however the formula is the same.

Yes, the formula would be the same.

15255 square feet * 3 feet = 45765 cubic feet

45765 cubic feet / 27 = 1695 cubic yards
