RPM of wheels?

RPM of wheels?
by bassmachine on 06/12/05 at 14:27:45

I need to find out the actual RMP of my wheels when travelling at 50km/h, tires have a circumference of 77.55
can anyone help with solving this formula?

Thanks ;)

First, convert kilometer/hour to something per minute. Since you measured the circumference of your tire in centimeters (I assume), then lets use that.

50 kilometer/hour = 83,333.3333333333 centimeter/minute

Now we know how many centimeters/minute you are traveling, just divide that by the circumference of your tires (in centimeters).

83,333.3333333333  / 77.55 = 1074.57554

Your wheels are rotating at about 1074.58 RPM

The actual formula would be:
centimeter/minute / centimeters = 1/minute
