Torque to weight

Torque to weight

I want to convert torque to weight.

My application is to put something in a vice and turn it with a torque wrench.  I want to know at a given torque (ft-lb) how much the equivalent weight would be if the same object were not in the vice but sitting on the ground with a large object on top of it.  I know I've got to use the gravitational constant to solve this, but it's simply been to long since I've had to do this kind of thing.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim

I also have been looking for this information for quite some time. But so far my searching has not turned up anything.

About the only way I can think of is to measure the force with a load cell.

I just cant seem to find the formulas to calculate it.
