What is #10 Oil

What is #10 Oil
by ScooterMan on 10/13/05 at 03:12:39

I just recently bought myself a Small Motorcycle.

And in the Owners Manual it states to ONLY use a #10 Oil in the Transmission.

Would you happen to know WHAT TYPE of Oil this would be?

I've heard it is a Hydrulic Type Oil.

Could it be the Same as ATF?

I know ATF sometimes can be used in Hydrulic Systems.

Or could you tell me what weight it would be in the terms of Motor Oil?

10w, 10w30, etc etc.

Any HELP and I'd be MOST GREATFUL.

I think #10 oil is a red grease, not transmission fluid. But motorcycles may differ from what I am used to working with.

Try visiting here:

Maybe emailing the webmaster there will help, as they appear to know motorcycles.
