How do you relate Julian date 2452879.31902 to today's date of 27 August 2003. My Julian date in my franklin planner is 237.

Your Franklin planner is not using Julian Date. It is actually using Gregorian Day of the Year which it mistakenly calls Julian Date.

With January 1st being day 1 and December 31st being day 365, August 27 is day 237.

Julian Date is the count from 12 noon, January 1st, -4712 (which is 4713 BC)
