Bars of pressure equated to atmospheres

I have a new espresso machine specified to have 18 BARS of pressure in the water pumping system. How do I convert or equate this to atmospheres of pressure? I've read that the conventional wisdom in espresso brewing is that 9 atmospheres of pressure is ideal for brewing espresso. Can 18bars be converted or expressed in atmospheres?

You can convert between bars and atmospheres on the Pressure conversion page here:
http://www.onlineconversion.com/pressure.htm
18 bar = 17.764617 atmosphere [standard]
18 bar = 18.3548918 atmosphere [technical]
I do not know how accurate you have to be, but it doesn't seem like you need to convert at all. Just use a straight 1 to 1 conversion and it would be accurate enough.
